    To represent Dietitians working in all areas of mental health and learning disability
  • Sharing of information and best practice 
    To work in collaboration with others towards improving the nutritional and mental health of individuals, the NHS and the wider economy.
    To be a reliable source of evidence-based information for individuals, healthcare professionals and agencies working in the field of mental health.
  • Specialism 
    To recognise and promote the concept that the dietary management in mental health requires specialist skills, knowledge and expertise.
  • Standards
    To develop and promote evidence-based standards for the dietary management of a range of mental health conditions
  • Evaluation and Research 
    To facilitate a supportive environment for the evaluation of dietetic practice in mental health and the promotion and dissemination of research.
  • Promote Dietitians
    To promote the role of the Dietitian in the management of nutritional issues within mental health, both within and beyond The British Dietetic Association.
  • Training 
    To develop and provide post-registration for Dietitians working in Mental Health and to influence current dietetic practice.
  • Networking
    To develop and foster a network of Dietitians interested in nutrition in mental health so that our individual expertise and knowlege can be shared across the group.
